December brings some much welcome news! This year we will receive bonuses from the legislature in December followed by salary increases in January!! Please see the memo below from Chancellor Woodson with more details. Happy Holidays!

Dec. 10, 2021

Dear NC State community,

As we approach the holidays, I want to share the good news that the bonuses provided in the 2021 State Appropriations Act will be included in the December paychecks for eligible employees. The act provides:

  • A one-time general legislative COVID bonus of $1,000 for eligible employees.
  • A one-time supplemental legislative COVID bonus of $500 for eligible employees earning $75,000 or less or who work as law enforcement officers.

Please note that bonuses will be indicated on paystubs as a “compensation bonus.” Also, NC State must prorate bonuses for part-time permanent employees who meet eligibility criteria.

Eligible NC State faculty and staff will also receive a Legislative Salary Increase (LSI) over the next two years, at a rate of 2.5% each year. We are preparing for the increase to be reflected in January 2022 paychecks, and it will be retroactive to July 1, 2021.

For eligibility details about the legislative salary increases and bonuses, please visit the main University Human Resources website. If you have questions about the increases or bonuses, please contact your college, division or unit HR representative or University Human Resources.

As always, thank you for all you do for this great university.

Randy Woodson
